You can now find Robert daily in the Lodge, cooking up his famous made-to-order omelets and decadent smoked meat. Robert and his family are dedicated to providing the ultimate adventure vacation. Their commitment and passion create an experience that leaves guests with memories to last a lifetime. Robert’s innovative ideas have brought a new spin to Dude Ranching at The Majestic Dude Ranch. As an experienced flyfisherman, mountain biker, and innovative businessman, Roberts’s ultimate dream was to own a Dude Ranch, with the conviction to provide others with the ultimate vacation in the mountains! At Majestic Dude Ranch, we believe in one simple promise — from the moment you arrive, you can leave your wallet behind. Everything is included in your per-person rate: lodging, meals, drinks, including alcohol at happy hour and dinner, guided activities, excursions, airport transfers and state and local lodging taxes. Our week-long stays run from Saturday to Friday, giving our horses and staff a day to rest and prepare between guest groups. Horseback riding is a cornerstone of the Majestic experience, with options for beginners and experienced riders alike — including trail rides, cow work, arena lessons, rodeo games, and more. Explore the great outdoors with white-water rafting down the Animas River, ATV rides through aspen groves at 11,000 feet, guided mountain hikes, fly fishing along the Dolores River, or world-class mountain biking through the high desert. We also offer archery, skeet shooting, paintball, laser tag, kayaking, paddleboarding, and evening activities like line dancing, karaoke, and mechanical bull riding. And yes — it’s all included.
Kids Program
During our Family Weeks, Majestic Dude Ranch offers a fully immersive Kids Program for children ages 4–17. Our certified and enthusiastic counselors lead the program from breakfast through dinner, giving parents the opportunity to relax and enjoy some child-free time to explore the ranch and participate in activities. Meanwhile, kids stay busy with age-appropriate ranch adventures, crafts, games, and group activities — all under the attentive supervision of our staff. Our program is designed with flexibility to allow kids to participate as much or as little as they would like in our program.

Bragg, North Carolina, as a US Army Paratrooper, swimming with sharks in corporate America and dealing with the cut-throat world of Hollywood cinema and starlets. But it is a majestic ranch in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado that truly tests his sense of worth and determination.
History
The Majestic Dude Ranch, located in Mancos, Colorado — often called the “Gateway to Mesa Verde” — has a rich and colorful history. Originally built as a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp in the 1930s, the ranch’s iconic red buildings, including the original mess hall that now serves as the lodge, reflect its deep roots. It opened as the Lake Mancos Guest Ranch in 1956, welcoming visitors to experience authentic Western living. Over the years, it hosted notable guests like famed author Louis L’Amour, who found inspiration in the surrounding landscapes. In 2010, Robert purchased the property, transforming it into the Majestic Dude Ranch while preserving its historic charm. The town of Mancos itself, founded in 1894 and steeped in Native American, Spanish, and pioneer history, continues to offer a unique blend of heritage, ranching tradition, and breathtaking natural beauty.
